Ludlow horse racing course events and racecourse info
Ludlow racecourse is located in the picturesque South Shropshire countryside with a record of racing dating back to 1729, tradition has it that in the fourteenth century soldiers from Ludlow Castle came not only to practice archery but also to match their horses. The course retains not only its Edwardian character but also its Club atmosphere. Though now a National Hunt course, it did not have jumping until the mid-nineteenth century. There are 16 mainly mid-week jump meetings a year and this course offers an enjoyable and informal day's racing.
Course Details National Hunt:
Right-handed. Chase course flat with sharp bends, circuit 1m4f. Hurdles track, 150y longer, slightly undulating, with easier bends.
