New racegoers can expect a warm welcome at Carlisle. This friendly course is located on the outskirts of the historic border city of Carlisle. Set in open countryside, the undulating course provides racing 10 months of the year with Jump meetings from October to April and Flat meetings between May and September.
Carlisle Racecourse's 1.5 mile track offers both Flat and National Hunt Racing. Well known with trainers for it's tough uphill finish, the course can represent an excellent test of a horse. Ginger McCain ran Red Rum on this course prior to each of his Grand National wins. Many of the Northern trainers also consider the fences to be the most inviting and fair in the Country.Course Details Flat Course:

National Hunt Course:
Right-handed, undulating, stiff and galloping. Circuit 1m5f.
Effect Of Draw High numbers have an advantage in races up to a mile.
